Winter Weather Advisory

Today is Wednesday January 12, 2020 at 9:30 am

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for tonight beginning at 7:00 p.m. and lasting until 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. 1-3 inches of mixed precipitation including snow, sleet and ice are expected.

We expect that driving conditions will be poor overnight tonight into Thursday and that there will be hazardous conditions during the morning commute. We ask that you not drive during this event unless absolutely necessary

Driving during storms puts the lives and health of our road crews, emergency service workers and police at risk and hampers their efforts to make roadways safe. If you must drive, make sure you have a fully charged cell phone, extra blankets, food and water should your vehicle become disabled.

Please make sure you are prepared at home with enough food, water and medicines and check with your elderly or infirm neighbors and friends to make sure they are prepared as well. Being prepared will prevent you having to travel during dangerous conditions.

As always, If you experience an actual emergency, please contact the Fallsburg Police Department at (845) 434-4422 or dial 911.
