Assessor
The assessor’s department is responsible for determining and maintaining assessments, property inventory records, ownership interest, mailing addresses, and maps on approximately 10,100 parcels. There are hundreds of deeds processed yearly by our office. We strive to provide property owners with fair and equitable assessments. Our office assists taxpayers with determining eligibility for various exemptions including: Seniors, Veterans, Clergy, Basic STAR, Enhanced Senior STAR, Firefighter, and Agricultural properties.

Key Dates:
March 1st – Taxable Status Date
Deadline for filing for all exemptions May 1st – Tentative roll date and assessment change mailed to property owners.
Property owner may examine their own assessments or assessments of any other parcels in the Town of Fallsburg.
Fourth Tuesday in May – Grievance Day, to file a formal appeal.
July 1st – Final assessment roll is filed and taxes apportioned for the following year.
